Hello everyone, we are here in Hawaii. It took me a while to have the time to write. We are still in the process of getting settled but have a townhouse to live in and kitchen stuff to cook and eat off of; and our Christmas tree is up and decorated. David still has to work on putting up the outside lights; it's our first time for that and it's not as easy as it looks. I will post pics as soon as possible. We actually live on the Alimanu Military Reservation or AMR. It's a huge crater and we live on the rim of it. There is new housing down in the crater but the waitlist was too long for that.
The weather is beautiful. Warm every day which is right up our alley. It's the rainy season this month and next. That's our winter! And that consists of cloudy and off/on drizzle. This week it's supposed to be nice and sunny.
We are still waiting for our SUV and Household Goods, both of which are still on their respective boats. I am hoping that our vehicle gets here this week...I hate driving a Chevy mini-van with a passion. Not to mention the cost! Driving here is a challenge, thank goodness we have a GPS. It's a necessity here. The island is not that big but roads are very confusing. That hasn't stopped me though, I've found Wal Mart, Sam's, Ross, and the NEX (the Navel Exchange store on Pearl Harbor.
The kids and dog have adjusted well. The time change wasn't as bad as we all had thought. We got Ashley registered at her private school; she starts Jan 6th. The public schools here are less then stellar. Education is not a priority; surfing takes the #1 spot. Kindergarden is not even required here! Needless to say, Amber will stay home with me and may go to preschool in the fall.
Well, that's it for now. I'll post more as things develop.
