It's going good...

Aloha, Just wanted to update since I haven't written in a while. I guess that's a good thing...no news is good news. Let's see, we got David's car fixed. Now he has a nice new shiny bumper. He finished the psyche rotation and is now in the middle of the Ophthalmology rotation. I think he has been enjoying it so far. He comes home every day excited about what procedures he's done or seen. I like seeing that...the girls are doing fine. A challenge on some days but then what kids aren't? I have pretty much decided to homeschool Ashley and Amber for a while, at least while we are here in HI. The schools are not that good and I am not impressed with the private school Ashley's attending now. David was a little skeptical at first but I think he's warmed up to the idea. Amber scared us the other day when she had her eyeball scratched with a stick. We thought she was going to have to go to the ER, but she's a tiny and tough one! It turned out to be fine and she didn't complain about it at all. Thank goodness. I've been good, going to PT for my foot and it's a little better. Still hurts if I do a lot of walking but I'm not letting that stop me.

The weather's been a little chilly lately and VERY windy. Actually wearing a sweatshirt in the morning! Still too cold to go to the beach. A couple of weeks ago, we went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. Ashley and Amber got to learn about planting pineapples and got to plant one in their grove. We rode the train and did the maze. Then had lunch (their pork was way too salty) and ate their famous pineapple whip, which is like pineapple ice cream. It was okay, not something I could eat a lot of ... too sweet, if you can believe I just said that! The girls had fun...after that we took a ride to North Shore. The waves are really cool and it's great to watch the surfers out there. Ashley and David walked the beach and saw a turtle on shore. Very cool. This weekend I would like to hike to a lighthouse that has a lookout and we can see the migrating humpback whales, if the weather permits.

Guess that's about it for now...have to get to PT soon. So until next time....ALOHA!

Aloha

So far so good here on the island...I've posted some pictures and hope you all enjoy. Lately we've gotten back into our routine. Work and school during the week and sightseeing on the weekends. So far it's been too cold to go to the beach. I know David's been dying to go surfing but it's been way too cold, plus he still needs to buy a surf board. We'll get there....speaking of David, he's in the middle of his psych rotation. FUN! Ashley and Amber are doing fine. I've been battling pain with my feet and wrist. I start physical therapy in another week. David got rear-ended last week and it was a hit and run. So now we have to pay for the Mini to be fixed. The adjuster comes Monday. Never a dull moment. That's about it in a nutshell! Will post more later when I get more photos downloaded. Our love to everyone!

Us in front of the 'wind wall'....I wish I could have one in the house, very cool.
Man-made volcano, there are buttons that you can push to increase the gas and create an eruption...Ashley did this one!
Man-made lava...very cool, well actually hot - 2500 degrees, same as the real stuff!

Bird made out of cassette tape and the branch is made out of the cassette....knew they'd get put to use some day:)

We had fun at this museum. It has science, art and history all in one!

These are pics from our outing to Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. It was a very touching, educational experience for all of us.
